Sustainable Energy Fund
Congratulations to Sustainable Energy Fund (SEF) on being named a recipient of an EcoStar Grant from Constellation Energy in the education and outreach category. Funding in the amount of $3,975 will help to provide scholarships for middle and high school teachers to attend Energypath 2011. A total of $355,000 was distributed to 85 EcoStar Grant winners across 17 states where Constellation Energy does business.
Through Energypath 2011, formerly known as the Sustainable Energy Conference, SEF supports the integration of renewable energy studies in higher education curricululm and contributes to the training of tomorrow's workforce in sustainable energy fields; supports the integration of renewable energy studies in middle school and high school curriculum; and provides training in solar thermal installation to dislocated workers in the Lehigh Valley to prepare them for emerging green jobs that provide a family-sustaining wage. Energypath 2011 brings together business leaders, entrepreneurs, policy makers, renewable energy experts and the academic community. Preconference boot camps in solar photovoltaic, solar thermal, wind, sustainable energy policy and energy efficiency will be offered June 27-29 and the conference is scheduled for June 29-30.
